Maine State Police Charge a 14 Year Old Boy With Manslaughter

Maine State Police have charged a 14 year old boy from Norridgewock with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of another teenager last month. The other teen was 15 years old who also lived Norridgewock was shot and killed while he and two friends were out shooting in a cornfield in Norridgewock. The 15 year old  died from a gunshot wound to the neck. State Police Detective Christopher Tremblay served a juvenile petition against the 14 year old charging him with manslaughter and reckless conduct with a firearm. The boy will make his first appearance in Skowhegan District Court. His name will not be released until his court appearance. In addition the man who supplied the guns to the three boys has also been charged in connection with the shooting. He is a 34 year old resident of Martin Stream Road in Norridgewock. He was summonsed on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of hunting on Sunday. His court appearance will be in Skowhegan District Court. State Police and the Maine Warden Service investigated the shooting for a month before the decision on the charges was made. the decision was made in consultation with the Maine Attorney General's Office.
