Boulder Police Investigating Fatal Accident
Boulder Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred just before 4 a.m. today on Canyon Boulevard at the mouth of Boulder Canyon. The single car accident left one man dead and three others injured.
A 37-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle died when he was ejected from the Volkswagen Rabbit during the accident. The 27-year-old driver was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center with serious injuries to his lower extremities. Two other men in the car were transported to Boulder Community Hospital with other injuries.
Police believe the vehicle was west bound on Canyon Boulevard when it left the roadway. Investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident. No one has been arrested and the case remains under investigation.
