Serious Personal Injury Collision in Silver Spring

Officers from the 3rd District are investigating a serious personal injury collision involving a Montgomery County School bus and a car in Silver Spring.
At 2:58 p.m. this afternoon, 3rd District officers and fire/rescue units responded to a collision in the 2400 block of Fairland Road in the Fairland area of Silver Spring. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a car driving eastbound on Fairland Road drove off the right roadside, over corrected and crossed the center line, striking the school bus head-on which was traveling westbound.
The adult female driver of the car was transported to Suburban Hospital by helicopter for treatment of severe non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the school bus and the aide on the bus, both adult females, were transported to Holy Cross for treatment of their injuries.
