I went snowboarding a few months ago and incurred an injury because the snow conditions were bad. Is the ski resort liabile?

On my birthday five months ago, I had a snowboard accident. Bad snow conditions caused the accident- the trail was extremely steep and very icy and as soon as I went on it, I had no control. I really feel as if the ski resort should have known about the bad snow conditions and closed the trial so I wouldn’t have the snowboard accident. Can I sue the ski resort?

A ski resort has a duty to patrons of that resort. Because they invite you on to their premises for a commercial purpose, you are classified under the law as an invitee and the resort has the duty to either keep the resort free of hazards and/or to warn patrons of potential hazards that exist. If the ski slope you were on was dangerous and the resort failed to close the slope or post a warning, you may have a cause of action for breach of the reasonable duty of care that they owed to you. You should contact an experienced personal injury attorney in your area who has experience with accident injuries, and with snowboard accidents and bad snow conditions. An attorney can help  you determine whether the ski resort breached their duty to you to warn you of the bad snow conditions or to protect you from the danger. Your attorney can help you decide how to best proceed.
