I had a public transit injury on the bus several months ago. I was commutting to work and there were no seats on the bus. I was holding on to the handrail, but it and the floor were both slippery and I fell and fractured my hip. Does the bus company have to pay my medical bills and pain and suffering if I sue them for my injury?

Bus companies have a duty to their patrons to provide a safe environment. If they breached that duty by failing to clean up spills or otherwise to minimize or eliminate causes of potential danger to people on the bus, then they may be liable for injuries that you incurred as a result of that legal breach of duty. An experienced personal injury attorney who has worked on accident injury cases will be able to help you to determine whether the bus company owed the duty of care that they owed to you. An attorney can also help you to collect the evidence you need to prove that the bus company breached their duty and that this breach led to the injuries you sustained.
