I was recently sitting on a chair at the doctor’s office that had broken on me. It caused some back and wrist injuries that I started being treated for. I didn’t think about taking legal action but am now considering it. How long do I have to file a personal injury claim?

In most states, you generally have up to 2-3 years of filing a personal injury claim regardless if you’ve already been treated for the injuries on your own means right after the accident. This information can be found on your State’s Statutes of Limitations and Tort law for Personal Injury. You should definitely consult with an attorney as liability should more than likely be held by the doctor’s office for the broken chair.
