Police Injury

By the sheer nature of their job, police officers are prone to injuries. From high-speed chases, foot chases, and having to deal with potentially dangerous individuals, a police officer is almost always put in situations that can cause them to become injured. A police injury can happen in a number of different situations including, but not limited to, dog bites, shootings, sustained injuries during rescue attempts, poor road conditions, toxic substance exposure and many more. A police injury should be reported immediately to the officer's superior officer, and the injuries, and the method by which they were sustained should be documented. Most police departments require an official form to be completed and filed with the department.
