On The Job Injuries

On the job injuries (OTI) are damages sustained as the result of an employee's work. In most cases, the injury actually takes place within the workplace. The United States has established a state-mandated insurance plan, known as workers compensation, which pays for on the job injuries, whether or not fault can be proven. This means that as long as the employee suffered an injury on the job, and as long as the company has more than a few employees, the employee has irrefutable access to worker's comp' benefits – the only exception is if it can be proven that there was extreme misconduct by the employee, such as a self-inflicted cut or bruise. For a given employee who is approved for workers compensation, the benefits are usually determined based on their average weekly wage and disbursed in the form of a check, after a claim has been filed with the HR department.
