Investigator

In a personal injury claim, an investigator takes on the task of determining how an injury came to pass, including the more important matter of fault. However, investigators generally do not act on the side of the injured. In general, investigators work for insurance agencies in an attempt to free their liability of paying damages. As part of an investigation, both parties in the accident will often times be subject to interrogations, among other aggravating practices. However, it is important to remember that, especially if you were injured, your insurance and/or the offender's insurance has a certain responsibility to provide coverage. Once an investigator finds grounds for ambiguity, their insurance company will be reluctant to pay. If a case of personal injury goes to court, an investigator may further attempt to relieve themselves from damages by bringing that their insured party was not at fault. Depending on which side of the claim you are on, it may become important to have an attorney when dealing with an investigator..
