Injury Compensation Amounts

Injury compensation amounts depend on many factors, the injury itself, the victim's age and more. Compensation will generally be categorized into either general damages or special damages. General damages are damages for pain and suffering and vary from case to case, depending on the jury and the state that the case is being litigated. Some states place a cap on compensation for general damages. Typically, general damages will depend n the type of injury, how long it will take the victim to reach recovery, whether or not the victim will be able to return to work and what the lasting effects of the injury will be. Special damages include financial losses incurred and expenses paid. This includes wages, future wages if it appears that the victim will not be able to return to the same job. If this is the case, every aspect of employment and earnings is considered, including possible bonuses, raises, and pensions that would have otherwise been part of their life. Medical and medical care expenses are also covered under special damages; this includes prescriptions, non-prescription needs, therapies, hospital bills, and more. Basically, any medical necessity, including full ヨtime care if it is warranted can be included in special damages. Injury compensation does not erase the damages done but it does help the victim to pay for medical bills and living expenses as heal.
