Injury Compensation Amount

There is no amount set down in law for either a minimum or a maximum injury compensation amount. Similarly, there is no set injury compensation amount which is offered for any specific type of accident. For example it is not possible to give a "normal" compensation amount for a motor vehicle accident in which a victim obtains a spinal injury. Instead, the amount of compensation may vary quite widely from case to case, as it is dependent to the individual context in each one. Some of the factors which are used to judge how much the injury compensation amount should be include the liability for the accident, the extent of the injuries sustained, whether the injuries will lead to permanent disability and loss of earning, the costs accumulated for medical care, costs which may be required for long-term care, and the pain suffered by the victim. If the compensation claim goes to court there may also be some level of punitive damages included in the amount.
