Duract

Duract was the trademark name of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with the generic name "Bromfenac". Duract was designed to be taken orally and was prescribed to for pain relief and to relieve inflammation ヨ this included prescribing to those with headache, muscle ache, tooth ache, menstrual cramps and sports injuries. Duract was originally approved for used by the FDA in 1997, but was subsequently withdrawn from the market after numerous reports were received of severe liver failure in some patients taking the drug for 10 days or longer. Several of these cases resulted in deaths while many others were seriously injured, requiring liver transplants and life-long medical support. Less severe side effects which were experienced by those on Duract included stomach upsets, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, yellowing of the skin and ringing in the ears.
