There are numerous safety hazards on any construction site, and crane operation is one such hazard which may result in construction crane accidents. Although construction crane accidents may result in serious injury or death to the crane operator, it is actually those outside the crane who are most at risk in an accident. Most common accidents include the crane tipping over or collapsing, operators falling from cranes, or workers being hit with a crane load. Most construction crane accidents involve mobile cranes and injure those working in close vicinity of the crane's operation. The main causes which have been implicated in construction crane accidents include instability of the crane, lack of communication between construction workers, lack of training, and electrical contact.
