Burn Injuries

Burn injuries are one possible type of injury that can arise during a personal injury case. In fact, burn injuries are quite common in the United States — the cause of not only fires, but also electrical wiring, chemicals, car accidents, and other causes. Generally speaking, burn injuries include any type of injury that causes burns to the body, although there can easily be differences in type and severity. In terms of severity, burn injuries can be first degree, second degree, or third degree, first being the least damaging and third the most. In terms of type, burn injuries can be thermal, chemical, radiation, or inhalation. Depending on the cause of a person's burn injuries, there is sometimes the need for a lawsuit to be filed in order to claim damages. For example, a worker injured as a result of a chemical spill or someone burned in an accident could file a lawsuit and recover damages.
