Against Medical Malpractice

There are certain steps which all patients may take to protect themselves to some extent against medical malpractice. This includes ensuring that they are aware of their patient rights, ensuring that all of the risks of any surgery or course of treatment are fully explained to them, and make sure that they know what to expect so that they can easily identify if something has gone wrong. At the same time, doctors may also need to take steps to protect themselves against medical malpractice lawsuits being brought against them. This involves ensuring that they always follow the correct and appropriate procedures, taking into account both the specific patient and the regulations and procedures of their employer. Physicians should also ensure that they have the correct level of insurance to protect themselves against medical malpractice claims.
