Accidents Drunk Drivers

Drink driving is the term which is used to describe the act of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, which is legally deemed to be a blood alcohol level of greater than 0.08%. Drink driving is a criminal offence for which motorists may lose their driving license, be fined, and even face jail time. Drink driving is considered a serious offence as a significant number of injuries and deaths are caused in the U.S. each year in drink drive accidents. The number of accidents drunk drivers have is generally higher than for sober drivers as the alcohol impairs the judgment of a person. This means that drunk drivers usually take longer to stop than a sober person, may misjudge the distance between themselves and other road users, and may take risks which they would not usually take when sober. This can lead to a significant danger not only for the driver and the passengers in their car, but also other road users or pedestrians who may be hit by the driver.
