Shoplifting

Shoplifting is theft of goods from a retail establishment by a patron. Most shoplifters are amateurs; but there are skilled people and groups who make their living from shoplifting. Professional shoplifters or organized shoplifting groups are often referred to as "boosters". These individuals targetラoften exclusivelyラchain stores; Wal-Mart is an especially popular target for "political shoplifters" in America. Common slang terms include "five finger discount", "jacking" or "racking", in the UK "nicking" or "chaving" and in Ireland "stroking". In the retail industry, shoplifting is known as "shrinkage".
