Rezulin

Rezulin was a drug that was used to treat type 2 diabetes in the late 1990s. The FDA required the drug's manufacturer, Parke- Davis / Warner ﾖ Lambert to stop selling the drug in March 2000 due to the possibility of severe liver toxicity. Significant heart problems have also been associated with Rezulin. The drug was approved for the U.S. in 1997 and approximately 2 million people used the drug between 1997 ﾖ 2000. There is evidence that the drug manufacturer knew of the dangers associated with Rezulin prior to FDA approval and that the FDA acted improperly in approving Rezulin for sale in the United States. Rezulin is also known as Troglitazone, Resulin and Romozin.
