Products Liability

Products liability refers to the type of legal case that can be brought against anyone in the chain of production or sale of an item which is defective and causes injury to a consumer. A product must meet the ordinary expectation of a consumer. That means that it should be safe for its intended use. If a product is used as directed and a person is hurt by an unexpected defect or danger then the person who was hurt or his or her survivors may file a products liability lawsuit to try and recover damages. Many defective products are toys or children's products but any product that is put into the marketplace may be found to be defective and may be at the heart of a products liability lawsuit. Products liability may also be known as product liability or defective product liability.
