Bicycles Accidents

Cycling is a relatively safe method of transport, with a much lower proportion of cyclists injured each year than either pedestrians or motorists. However when accidents do happen they can be very serious. There are a number of different types of bicycles accidents which may occur, for example only the rider themselves may be involved such as if a turn is taken at the wrong angle and the rider falls off their bike or if there is a fault with the bike; the accident could involve pedestrians being hit; or one of the most serious bicycle accidents is when a rider is hit by a motor vehicle. Any type of bicycle accident has the potential to cause serious injury, but those involving motor vehicles are usually the highest risk given the high velocity impact which may be involved. Bicycle accidents in which a pedestrian is hit also have the potential to be fatal.
