Auto Pedestrian Accidents

Although many motor vehicle accidents may involve a single vehicle accident or a collision between two or more vehicles, a significant proportion also involve others individuals outside of the vehicle. When any individual travelling on foot is injured in a motor vehicle accident this is referred to as an "auto pedestrian accident". In most states, a pedestrian almost always has the right of way even when walking in the road, so the driver of the car is almost always liable in auto pedestrian accidents. Some of the more common auto pedestrian accidents involve pedestrians being struck while on a crosswalk or while in a parking lot. Most hit-and-run cases are also auto pedestrian accidents, although these are unique in that they usually require an investigation to find the driver responsible. Most auto pedestrian accidents result in serious injury or death, with the pedestrian usually sustaining the worst injuries.
