Part of accident injury law is designed so that a person who has been the victim of an injury, that was caused as the result of an accident, would have a means to recoup some sort of compensation for the injuries they have suffered. Another area of accident injury law addresses what a person is and isn't allowed to do when operating a motor vehicle or walking along and crossing public roadways. These laws are way for people to understand what is legal and what is not legal. For instance, since the 1980's all fifty United States have enacted the law that allows a person who is stopped at a red light to make a right hand turn onto an adjoining street as long as there is no oncoming traffic.
